The next talk of our Lancaster Nova Seminar Series in Health Economics and Policy in the Lent Term 2021/2022 will go live on Thursday, 27 January 2022 at 11.30 am (UK time). The webinar lasts one hour (45/50 minutes presentation and 15/10 Q&A).

Speaker: Prof Mireia Jofre-Bonet (Office of Health Economics, UK)

Title: “The impact of domestic violence on the health and educational attainment of children”

Abstract: This talk will summarise two research papers on the impact that witnessing domestic violence against their mother has on children´s health and their educational attainment. Both papers exploit the Millenium Cohort Study and address the potential endogeneity bias issue using various approaches. We conclude living in a house where there exists intimate partner violence hinders the health and the academic progression of children significantly.
