Catarina is an Assistant Professor Adjunct and Course Instructor at Nova School of Business and Economics (Nova SBE), teaching across both Bachelor’s and Master’s programmes. She has been lecturing courses on Communication, Leadership and Ethics since 2018 and has contributed to the organisation of the Nova SBE Academy of Purpose. She also previously served as a Teaching Assistant and Research Assistant at the School. She holds a B.Sc. in Economics and an M.Sc. in Management from Nova School of Business and Economics, as well as a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Law and Economics from Queen Mary University of London. She also completed part of her academic training at Milano-Bicocca University, Italy, under the Erasmus Programme. Catarina holds a Ph.D. in Communication Studies from Universidade Católica Portuguesa – Faculty of Human Sciences, where she is also a Researcher at the Centre for Communication and Culture (CECC). Her research focuses on leadership communication and its impact on organisations, as well as on the development of interpersonal relationships. She has contributed to several academic conferences, forums, and executive training sessions, and is a Certified Executive Trainer by IEFP. She has also been appointed by the University of London as the main responsible for the organisation of academic, career, and social training sessions. Alongside her academic career, Catarina has developed professional experience as an Advisor to the Councilor for Human and Social Rights, Health, Citizenship and Youth at Lisbon City Council (CML), and as a Business Developer in different sectors, including one of the leading law firms in Portugal, a Finnish tech company, and a Portuguese startup.
