Students can apply to the Nova SBE Bachelor’s programs with this call if they don't hold the nationality of a member state of the European Union and haven't lived in Portugal for more than two consecutive years.
All candidates should apply through the SUPERNOVA Foundation Programme, managed by NOVA University Lisbon. The SUPERNOVA Foundation Programme will help students in the process of adapting to the European teaching system. It aims to level up the candidate's technical knowledge and provide the required language competencies (when needed) to students who wish to apply, in the future, to a bachelor's degree or integrated master's in one of NOVA's schools. This multidisciplinary program offers students the opportunity to choose three courses offered by NOVA's schools, attend the Ideas Club and Portuguese and English classes, thus developing language competences to pursue the intended studies for a University degree at NOVA.
Candidates to the SUPERNOVA Foundation Programme must satisfy the following requirements:
ONLINE APPLICATION
An International Student (non-EU) who wishes to apply for a Bachelor’s degree at Nova SBE will have to present their application by filling in the SUPERNOVA Foundation Programme application form and attaching the needed documents.
After submitting the online application, the candidate will receive an email from NOVA University Lisbon's International Development Office acknowledging that the documents were received and a pre-screening will be conducted, resulting in the following outcomes: Conditional acceptance on doing and succeeding the program, Deferred decision for a possible direct entrance at Nova SBE or Unsuccessful.
Conditional acceptance on doing and succeeding the SUPERNOVA Foundation Programme, fulfilling Nova SBE’s criteria:
Candidates that qualify for the program path will have to achieve Nova SBE’s minimum cumulative criteria to enrol;
Pass the Mathematics course – 14 points (from 20);
Pass the course offered by Nova SBE (2021/2022 Principles of Microeconomic) – 10 points (from 20);
Pass the English course – Mandatory English proficiency, except for those who prove a B2 level according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR);
Have a minimum class attendance rate of 80%.
A deferred decision for a possible direct entrance at Nova SBE:
Applications of candidates that qualify for direct entrance will be shared with the Nova SBE Bachelor’s Admissions Committee, who will make the final decision for this path after evaluation.
Unsuccessful (not entering Nova SBE):
This result will be based on the evaluation conducted by the SUPERNOVA Foundation Programme Team, who will communicate the final decisions to all applicants. Students may attend the program but will not be joining Nova SBE after it.
